EDIT: didn't get her most likely because I didn't draw her and i used lineart. how lame.
So this is my soon to be (hopefully!) main character in a comic i'm making. I did my picture for her, now I must write a history for her, then hopefully i'll become her new mom! woot! So! Here we go!........
Name: Amberlee Breed: Unknown Gender: Mare Age: 7 years Appearance: Amberlee has a stock horse build, with some spanish influence. She has a light and thin frame, while at the same height of a Quarter, 00hh; her legs are longer and she doesn't have as deep of a chest as Quarters do. This results in faster running and better agility. She has a thicker neck and her facial features suggest the Quarterhorse blood. She has a very thick mane and tail, with slight feathering. Her main and tail have white in them, as would regular paint horses do depenging on their markings. Her markings are very different from normal horses and they have set her apart from the very beginning. Although she shows normal Chestnut coloring on her Overo/Sabino coat, a strange teal color has replaced some of those Chestnut spots. These teal patches are located behind both of her shoulders, on her left eye, and on both her flanks. Her left foreleg and right hindleg hooves both are a metallic teal while her other hooves are nomal colored. Her right eye is covered by a patch of chestnut, leaving the eye amber colored. As for her left eye, since it's covered by a patch of teal, they eye is a bright green.
Personality:Amberlee is a tough and serious mare. After being thrown out to killers, and seeing what humans have done to horses like her parents, Amberlee isn't exactly an evil mare, but she has a bad temper. As a foal she was a sweet little girl and although she was much smarter then the other horses, she just went with the flow. But before she knew it she was on her own as a yearling, and was leading a herd at 2years. With all those responsiblities trhust upon her at such an early age, she grew up fast - and her heart turned from a mushy thing into a rock hard wall. She has no soft spot, and nobody has been able to penetrate the wall surrounding her heart. She has become extremely smart, strong, and independent.
History: She was bred by a very popular Paint horse breeder. Little did they know that Amberlee's dam had a recessive gene (which didn't show on her) that caused some paint patches to come out odd colored. Her sire had this rare gene also (again it was recessive this time green) and in a coincidence(sp?) the two were bred and produced Amberlee and her dominant odd colored gene. The breeder saw this little filly and her wierd alien colored markings and tossed her out. It was a defect in his eyes and although Amberlee should've been considered a rare and beautiful creation, she was seen as a weakling and was sold to whoever wanted her. Her dam and sire were both practically brainwashed, but Amberlee came out much smarter and with more dominant instincts than normal horses. She was bought by a slaughterhouse owner. She quickly became malnourished and underweight. They shipped her off (along with 500 other horses) in a train headed toward the slaughterhouse. About halfway (and in the middle of a desert) to the 'house, the train stopped at a station so the workers could get a rest. They let the horses out into a few seperate pens. A few days later, the station was attacked by a tribe of people that lived in the desert. They were looking to steal some horses and weapons and other things that were useful from the station. Some humans were killed; the survivors fled and didn't think about the horses they left behind. As the days wore on, the horses were dying. They were in pens with sand and dirt for ground; no grass or water. Most of the horses were too weak to jump or break the metal fences and that trapped them. But, lo and behold, Amberlee (in the poor state she was in) stumbled over to the gate and worked on breaking it or opening it if she could. It took her all day in the blistering heat, but finally as the sun went down, she opened it. All the horses fled across the desert in search of water. She was soon the 'lead' and many of the others depended on her to lead them to safety. A week went by as they roamed the desert's sandy and rocky terrainn. Some began to doubt her, but she soon came upon a small valley tucked between two large rock formations. And, to the herd's relief, a small pond formed in a depression in a rock on the ground. Grass and other plants grew around here. Where the water came from nobody knew. After a few years she grew tired of leading the herd and since she taught them how to get water if the pond ever dried up, she knew they would be fine without her. And so she left, heading north. Now she lives the life of a nomad.
